The ASCE Florida Section, ASCE Tallahassee Branch, Florida Engineering Society, and its Big Bend Chapter have launched a donation drive to support disaster relief for victims of Hurricane Michael.
The ASCE Tallahassee Branch, in partnership with the FES Big Bend Chapter, the City of Tallahassee, and other non-profit groups, has started collecting donations to purchase and deliver necessary goods and supplies to the affected communities.
Several shipments of donations have already been sent out to the areas most devastated by Hurricane Michael. Although power and water have been restored in many areas, the residents of these areas wake up daily to a disaster zone, with most facing costly home damage and even homelessness. Many local businesses sustained damage causing them to cease operation, leaving many jobless.
Support has poured in from near and far, and ASCE Tallahassee is incredibly grateful for the contributions of its members and the Tallahassee community.
